Console Gaming
Skate is an open world skateboarding game that worked to build virtual community while enjoying the common interest of skating throughout San Van
My impact on this project:
Implement UI in new game features
Identifying inefficient pipelines that resulted in low quality output and creating improved production processes
Integrating seasonal and event UI assets into the game
Seasonal UI Content
I was responsible for implementing all seasonal and event UI content throughout the game. Some of the events included were Halloween, St Patrick’s Day, X-Games, Nike SB partner ship, The assets included Splash screens, menu backgrounds, upsell screen rebuild, tutorial screens, notice icons, and more.
Seasonal Ownable Content
Every release the game did, new content was added for players to own. I integrated ownable assets in several areas of the game:
Player Card
Built a set of tools for validating, resizing, naming, scaling images, and integrating the assets into Frostbite
Coordinated with the Live Ops team to connect the assets to the server system.
Gestures
Identified visual inconsistencies with the existing design
Built a production pipeline that standardized the output of thumbnails with significant time savings in production
Rebuilt the full library to set the new standard
Board Stickers
Processed and implemented thumbnails for new assets
New Feature UI Implementation
New features were added to the game and needed UI implementations:
Speedlines: New game mode where players would be timed while completing objectives
Using the UI/UX designs built needed assets for the feature. HUD timer/scoring, objective timers, alert notices, and completion screen
Tattoos: Added a new functionality to put tattoos on player’s character
Added tile to Create A Skater menu with animated icon
Styled new category screen to UI/UX specifications
